[Today] Allow more flexibility to top up parents’ Retirement Accounts

I refer to this week’s Talking Point, “CPF: More choice, better security?” Expenses here are relatively high, and to depend solely on cash contributions from one’s children, say S$200 to S$300 monthly, is insufficient.

If I must wait until I reach the Minimum Sum to transfer savings to the Retirement Accounts of my 70-year-old parents for their monthly needs, by then, they would not have enjoyed a happy retirement.

I hope the Government can look into allowing citizens who face these problems to make top-ups using their Central Provident Fund.
