[Straits Times] Need to enhance safety of prams

MANUFACTURERS of products for babies or toddlers must further explore how to prevent another accident involving prams ("No foul play in baby's death in pram accident"; last Thursday).

The safety lock could be enhanced or an additional feature could be explored so that once the baby pram is unfolded, even when it is not fully done, the pram will not be be able to fold up or topple to the ground.

Although baby prams will most likely be operated by adults, there is a possibility that they could be handled by young children who may not know how to use one safely.
