[Straits Times] Rethink SG50 celebrations

SG50 was to be a nationwide effort to celebrate Singapore's 50th birthday. It would have been a joyous occasion to celebrate this event with Mr Lee Kuan Yew, our first Prime Minister.

However, this is no longer possible. Whatever celebrations initially planned will be tinged with sadness.

Perhaps the activities could be toned down, and the money used to set up the Lee Kuan Yew SG50 Fund, for more meaningful and lasting projects.

ONE LAST ROAR

The RSAF Black Knights should conduct a fly-past for Mr Lee Kuan Yew one last time on Sunday as the casket leaves Parliament House for the funeral. One last roar for the man who made Singapore soar, the man who built a nation against all odds, the man who said he tried his best but who actually achieved much more.
