I AM no supporter of pastor Lawrence Khong, and disapprove of many of his protests against lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender (LGBT) groups, which are antagonistic and not in the spirit and love of Christianity which he preaches ("Ikea working on solution for magic show"; yesterday).
However, if the LGBT groups have an issue with him, it is for them to take it up with him or his congregation personally.
Ikea Singapore is pro-family and is supporting a family-friendly programme. It is not supporting Mr Khong.
Even though LGBT groups may not believe in a traditional family of a husband and wife, they need to accept that Singapore is a conservative society and we are pro-family.
To push their agenda and force companies, like Ikea Singapore, to withdraw support for pro-family events is an extremist move. Does it mean that companies can support only LGBT causes?
My family and I pledge our support to Ikea Singapore and hope the management will not give in to the pressure from the LGBT groups.
