Is reserving seats when queueing for food an ungracious act or a uniquely Singapore custom? Does this practice put seats to optimal use?
I've always been proud of this uniquely Singaporean culture... People respect the fact that a table with a pack of tissue paper on it is taken.
- Lingo Lin Weiling
There is nothing wrong in "chopeing seats"... what is not acceptable would be those who finish their food and stay to continue chatting.
- Bbz Arocha Tan
It's neither customary nor ungracious. It's simply the smart thing to do. Would you prefer to carry your tray of food and then start searching for a seat?
- Jeff Cym
A counterproductive act. In the time taken to queue at popular food stalls, fellow diners seeking a quick meal could well have utilised the seats.

A writer has suggested that the basement of Mr Lee Kuan Yew's house be removed and preserved at the National Museum. Do you agree?
Much as I wish to see the historic, humble family home in situ, Mr and Mrs Lee's last wishes regarding their home and personal space should be respected.
- Mei Wong
Build a mock-up of the famous basement as part of a permanent exhibit at the National Museum. Something similar to the Fort Siloso exhibits.
- Huixian Lu
Make a high-definition image of the whole house and compound so the public can visit it virtually.
- Joseph Hiew

Is there a bullying problem in schools here? If so, what can be done to address it and help the students involved?
Teachers... must treat all bully complaints seriously.
- Janet H T Ng
Bullying happens at all stages in our lives... Knowing how to deal with bullies would be much more beneficial than putting the blame on the institutions and expecting them to prevent it.
- Kenneth Kum
Ostracising is not considered bullying. Anyone or group has the right not to befriend or accept anyone else. Gossiping does not constitute bullying. Name calling is.
