AN INDEPENDENT nation that didn't exist 50 years ago thanks former Prime Minister Lee Kuan Yew for his sacrifice, selflessness and imperishable spirit.
We are grateful for the comfort, security and opportunities that he gave us - the promise of a future that lies in our own hands, built on a foundation that he laid.
And now, it is time for him to rest.
It is our turn now, each Singaporean, to contribute another brick to that foundation.
Let's not forget that we owe it all to one man. May he rest in peace.
