[Straits Times] Efforts to reintegrate ex-offenders

WE THANK Lee Jia Wei
for her feedback ("Enable inmates to pick up new skills"; last Wednesday).
The Singapore Corporation of Rehabilitative Enterprises (Score), a statutory board under the Ministry of Home Affairs, provides skills training to offenders and prepares them for their reintegration into the national workforce.
Score provides Workforce Skills Qualifications-certified training in many areas, such as food and beverage, logistics and warehousing.
Score has more than 4,000 private-sector employers who have signed up with its online job portal.
In addition to training,
Score also matches offenders to jobs with these employers, upon the offenders' release from prison.
