[Straits Times] Home-grown talent who is not homophobic

I DABBLE in magic shows and, whenever I travel, I never fail to catch performances by famous magicians such as David Copperfield and Criss Angel, but none of their shows is like pastor Lawrence Khong's.
Mr Khong choreographs his magic shows with a difference, producing them like theatrical musicals, with exciting illusions and touching storylines. His shows are really world class.
I know of someone who has confirmed that Mr Khong works with lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender (LGBT) people for his shows.
Hence, it does not make sense to call him "homophobic" ("Ikea working on solution for magic show"; yesterday).
Mr Khong was the first in Asia to receive the Elite Diamond Merlin Award in 2010 as Magician of the Year, conferred by the International Magicians Society.
This prestigious award is presented to the highest achievers in magic and is like the Oscars for magicians.
Let us put aside our differences and support Singapore's home-grown talent and world-class performer.
