[Straits Times] Magic show just family fun

PASTOR Lawrence Khong's magic performance and his stance against homosexuality are two separate matters ("Ikea working on solution for magic show"; yesterday).
I cannot understand why gay rights activists are upset with Ikea's support of a show that provides family entertainment, and not one that promotes homophobia.
People who have supported and attended any of Mr Khong's gigs come from diverse backgrounds, and what enthrals them is his spectacular showmanship.
It is somewhat irrational for gay rights groups to be unhappy with the show and to criticise it for the simple reason that the pastor is involved.
It is important to strengthen family ties, and watching magic shows as a family is a good way to bond.
