[Straits Times] Mr Lee's legacy will live on in the young

MR LEE Kuan Yew's death is a great loss to all Singaporeans, but my classmates and I believe his legacy will live on.

Though we did not experience first-hand the tumultuous times during Mr Lee's early reign, we recognise that he was the one who gave us what we have now, due to his leadership and decisiveness as prime minister of Singapore.

He started many campaigns to make Singapore clean and free of litter, and also promoted racial harmony, which he felt was essential for Singapore's peace.

He served Singapore with all his effort, and we will never find another leader like him.

Let us, Singaporeans, allow Mr Lee's determination and commitment to live in us. Let us preserve racial and religious harmony, and work together as one Singapore, and uphold Mr Lee's beliefs and pass them to the next generation.
