[Today] Amount of feedback received on animal-related issues is minimal

In the report “Only a minority support culling of stray animals: Poll” (April 7), the Agri-food and Veterinary Authority (AVA) mentioned that last year, it received feedback 750 times on monkey-related issues and 2,500 times on stray dogs.

That is minimal, bearing in mind the population numbers here, and is also reflected in the survey by the Animal Concerns Research and Education Society (ACRES). Further, some of the people calling the AVA may have been repeat callers.

Ultimately, the AVA should work closely with ACRES to manage these issues.
