Nurse went the extra mile

FOR more than 10 years, my mother, Madam Lim Gim Teui, 92, was extremely well treated by the doctors and nurses at Tan Tock Seng Hospital.

Recently, my mother was supposed to be admitted to Dover Park Hospice, but we turned it down because it did not allow family members to stay there with their loved ones.

An extremely helpful and kind nurse, Miss Felicia, arranged for my mother to stay at Communicable Disease Centre 2, Ward 83, to accommodate our needs.

She even presented my mother with a Christmas cake, and dropped by often to inquire after her.

At my mother's wake, she dropped by to console my distraught sister.

Our family is very grateful to Miss Felicia for her kindness and concern. I wish her all the best in her career.

Kind and generous cabby

MY 17-YEAR-OLD son has cerebral palsy and uses a wheelchair.

He had an appointment at KK Women's and Children's Hospital on Monday morning, and I tried to book a Comfort cab to take us there. It took about an hour before I managed to book one.

The cabby was very kind. He helped me and my maid to fold the wheelchair and put it in the boot of the taxi. Upon reaching the hospital, he refused to accept the fare of about $15.

I did not get his name but I would like to thank him and highlight his kind and generous act. I hope Comfort will value and reward such a good driver.
