[Today] HDB working with developer, local MP to address Trivelis issues

We refer to Mr Francis Cheng’s letter “HDB should help deal with Trivelis developer” (May 18). The Housing and Development Board is aware of the residents’ concerns and is actively getting the developer to address them.
We are also in touch with the local Member of Parliament. Discussions are ongoing between the developer and residents, and the HDB monitors the progress closely.
We note that the developer is considering a “goodwill package”, and details are being discussed with the residents.
The fact is that under the sale and purchase agreement between the developer and home buyers, the former must rectify any defects within the Defects Liability Period. There are also other provisions that protect the interest of home buyers.
Although the HDB is not privy to the agreement, the HDB will play an active role in ensuring a fair and satisfactory outcome.
