[Today] Refugees’ plight deserves more attention than maritime spats

I watched with a heavy heart the news on the plight of the Rohingyas — marginalised in their country and forced to flee, repudiated by the nations they try to get help from.
It is infuriating to see how responsibility is being shoved around the region, while lives are lost. Regrettably, disputes over maritime boundaries get more airtime in regional and international meetings than the stateless Rohingyas.
Life is precious, regardless of race, religion, language, skin colour, gender or more. What has humanity come to when lands and seas are more valuable than human lives?
