MR LEE Kuan Yew, our founding Prime Minister; a man, a Singaporean; a statesman without equal; the greatest son of Asean; a David among the Goliaths of international leaders; arguably the wittiest and most eloquent Chinese in the English-speaking world.
I am a grateful, proud beneficiary of his life's passion and legacy. Because of him, I am proud to be a Singaporean, even though I am nothing but an ordinary son of Singapore. I feel most lucky to have been born here and lived through these germinal 50 years of Singapore.
Let us remember him on a special day in a special way.
Also, I suggest we rename our Changi Airport the Lee Kuan Yew International Airport ("Live the Lee Kuan Yew spirit" by Mr Clinton Lim Eng Hiong and "Much to thank architect of S'pore for" by Mr Philip Chai Min Fook; both published yesterday).
A small part of me has died with him. May he rest in peace.
