[Straits Times] Airport security taken seriously

WE THANK Ms Bernadette Chang for her feedback ("Airport security needs tightening"; last Friday).
Changi Airport has a stringent test and inspection regime in place to ensure that all security screeners perform to their optimum in meeting the security requirements and standards set out by the authorities.
In addition, the airport police conduct regular tests and inspections to ensure compliance with the security standards.
We take a serious view of any possible security lapse and are working with the airport police to look into the two incidents.
We will continue to stress to our front-line security personnel the need to be vigilant at all times.
