Should Singapore expand by leasing overseas territories and managing them as our own? Why or why not?
Singapore is small and with no natural resources.
We should be looking at expanding our territory for the success and prosperity of all people in Asia.
The Japanese, back then, tried to establish a Greater East Asia Co-Prosperity Sphere but failed to do so.
Can Singapore do it via a different method?

Orchard Road was the main shopping hub for Singaporeans... but after building satellite shopping hubs - such as Tampines, Jurong and Clementi - Orchard Road has now lost
its appeal...
Scalability is a nice dream but not a well-studied concept.

Do Singaporeans need protection from degree mills? What can be done about them?
Yes, the manpower and education ministries should create a website that lists unaccredited institutions, degree mills and fake certifications.

The entire process needs to be reviewed. Some degrees may not be fake but are still not equivalent to our local university standards...
We need to place more emphasis on work experience and start putting up high entry barriers for job applications. Let us start with government bodies so that multinationals and smaller businesses can follow suit.

It's more like employers - especially the civil service - need to be fully aware of the validity of the qualifications of those they are hiring. The fake degree saga puts into question the entire selection process of the civil service.
The best way forward is to have a clean-up and be upfront about the investigations, to restore confidence.
