[Today] Be mindful when proselytising

I am a Buddhist who enjoys Christian church sermons, Hindu temple circumambulation and the Catholic Mass.
Some church members do approach others, as they are asked to go forth and spread the Gospel.
However, how they do it is important — pushing one religion over others could give rise to problems.
I have pointed out to them that they are asked to emulate Christ but not judge others, as nobody on earth would know or win the debate on whether there is one god, many gods or no god, and have been criticised for this.
Our Prime Minister’s views, as reported in the report “‘Unrealistic to think religion is no longer a sensitive issue’” (May 13), shows that he keeps his finger on the pulse of heartlanders.
Singaporeans should always live one step ahead of others.
