I am aghast at how smugglers, for the sake of profits, go to great lengths and subject some animals to inhumane conditions to avoid detection by the authorities.
Due to the harm and trauma experienced, some of these poor animals die or need to be put to sleep when found.
I applaud efforts by the authority to seize and rescue smuggled animals.
The authorities play an active role in prohibiting this illegal trade from flourishing.
Smugglers, when caught, deserve harsher punishments, which should deter those who intend to walk on this thin line.
