[Straits Times] Jokowi made the right decision

I DISAGREE with the actions of Australian Prime Minister Tony Abbott on Wednesday in withdrawing the country's ambassador from Indonesia and suspending ministerial contact due to Jakarta's execution of two Australian drug smugglers ("Australia recalls ambassador"; yesterday).
We are sad for the loss of eight people's lives ("Indonesia executes 8 drug traffickers"; Wednesday), but Australia has overreacted.
We have to respect the laws of another country and understand that the misuse of drugs has caused the suffering of many ("Drug traffickers deserve no sympathy" by Mr Patrick Tan Siong Kuan; yesterday).
We cannot impose our values on other countries. Myuran Sukumaran and Andrew Chan were the ringleaders of the Bali Nine heroin trafficking gang.
They did not contribute to Australia's economic success, or in any other field.
Indonesian President Joko Widodo has made the right decision in going through with the executions despite tremendous pressure.
